Based in Tennessee, Evan MacLean is an experienced property and casualty insurance professional with more than 15 years of underwriting experience in property and casualty insurance. Most of his insurance work has been in the Midwest and the Northeast. Evan has consistently exceeded production goals over his career while managing large and diverse underwriting portfolios for leading organizations.
Evan works as a senior captive underwriter for a captive MGA/ consulting firm based in Knoxville where he helps manage a multi-million book of business, evaluating complex multi-line property and casualty risks for both domestic and international captive placements. He focuses on structuring and pricing customized risk transfer and fronted captive solutions for clients, leading broker-client engagements, and analyzing claims and loss control to assess risk quality and recommend mitigation strategies.
Evan has held advancing underwriting positions with several global insurance carriers throughout his career. His expertise spans several fields of expertise, including property, casualty and commercial auto placements. In addition to his underwriting leadership at the companies, he enhanced broker relationships, mentored junior professionals, and contributed impactful insights for business development.
Mr. MacLean holds an MS in finance from Suffolk University. He has also earned several industry designations, including CPCU, ARe, and AIC.
